Good-Bye Yellow Brick Ravey Street
We moved into our studio on Ravey street, in Shoreditch, 18 months ago. It immediately felt like home, helped by the fact we had so many wonderful customers and friends dropping by to our prime location in the heart of London’s East End.
We’ve shared many a good time in the studio since then whether it be hosting events for local clubs and teams, pub quizzes, Q&As or just the day to day work we love doing. We created Ravey CC, our own club who’s kit was designed taking inspiration from local history. We got to meet a whole host of great, interesting new people who worked and lived nearby. We enjoyed many a summer evening.. And Spring evening… and Autumn night… And to be honest winter ones too spilling out onto the street outside the Griffin Pub. We managed to use just about every wall within a square mile of the place to photograph our collections, we even managed to find colour matched food trucks. And if that isn’t a sign you’ve found a home then what is?
What with everything currently going on, we’ve been working from our respective homes for a month now. We’re lucky to be in a position where this doesn’t affect our business too much, everything we need to do can be carried out from our houses with a heavier than usual reliance on internet based conference calling software and the heroic efforts of our local post office, who have been dealing with hugely increased demand due to other closures incredibly well. However, with the lease for our Ravey Street studio expiring in the summer, we have made the decision not to renew. We made the move due to the extraordinary circumstances we’re in. It is a lot easier to move out now than when things return to normal, whenever that will be.
So for the time being, our postal address for Returns or Samples and so on is 25 Flanchford Road, London W12 9ND
We carry on ‘as usual’ without it being usual at all. While we can do what we need to do remotely, it is the energy and camaraderie of being together in the same place that makes Milltag what it is. That is why we’ll be reopening a new studio as soon as we practically can. When we do, you can be sure we’ll have one hell of a party and of course, you’re all invited because we’ll want to thank you for your love and support over this period.
