Now, to a lot of people the cycling jersey is a thing of ridicule. Hideous, garish, skin-tight monstrosities that can make the most dapper of dans look like a camp, colourblind superhero who got dressed while on acid. Obviously as a person who spends a lot of time thinking about the humble cycling jersey it struck me that perhaps I’d forgotten just how bad jerseys got in the dark days of the 80s and 90s.
